Laverne joined CPS in 2002. He dedicated
thirty years to the safety of the City of Freeport
as a firefigher, retiring in 2001 with the rank of Captain. Additionally, Laverne devotes his time as the Secretary of the Excelsior Masonic Lodge No. 97 as well as Secretary for the Freeport Park
District Senior Golf League.
Larry Stees has been with the company for 12 years. He and his wife of 47 years love to travel. He’s driven in every state in the lower 48 except for Main and Vermont! Larry is an Army Veteran and also a history buff. He’s been a driver for much of his career. Larry was a Freeport School District bus driver for 4 years. He also drove big rig semi trucks cross-country for a time as well as driving for Pretzel City Transit.
Doug has been with CPS for two years. He was born in Freeport and attended school in Mt. Morris. Doug and his wife spent much of the 80’s in Texas near the Rio Grande area. After that they spent some time out East where Doug drove a 15-passenger van for the State of Maryland. He was also a street light technician for the city of Baltimore for more than 5 years. Doug and his wife returned to Freeport in 2014. He spends much of his free time looking after his 2-year-oldgrandson as well as his Blood Hound, Shelby. Last but not least, Doug is an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers.
